Annie is a 13 year old girl whose parents do not live together.  Her step-father is in the military, which means they move around a lot.  Sometimes Annie worries about moving to their new destination.  Will she make friends?  Will people make fun of her?  Will she do well in the new school?  Annie sometimes stays up late at night worrying about these things.  She has difficulties sleeping.  Sometimes, Annie worries so much her stomach hurts.  When asked, Annie will tell you she worries about a lot of other things too.  And she has a lot of fears.  She says her mother calls her fears “irrational”.  Sometimes, Annie’s fears keep her from doing things she really wants to do, causing her to miss out on a lot.  At school, Annie has a hard time focusing on her school work because she is thinking about all of her worries.  Her teacher thinks she might have ADHD.  Annie is worried her mother will make her take medication for ADHD now.How would you diagnose Annie?
