Select the organization for
which you will design a programming solution.
Write the business
requirements for the solution in accordance with the instructions.
Here is what we are going to use…Our organization is a
small Office Supply business, called ABC Office Supplies. They sell
office supplies to corporate customers in a small geographical area,
maybe near a metropolitan area of our choice. They don’t do retail
sales. They need a program to track sales history so they can better
evaluate the performance of their Sales Team.
Here is the entire project, but as the weeks go by this will all be assembled piece by piece.
Select an organization.
Write the business requirements for a
computer program and identify
which entities are to be modeled using Object Oriented Programming.
Analyze the best choice of language to
meet those requirements. The final deliverable is a paper comparing and
contrasting C# with another language.
The team will first select an
organization. This may be an organization known by one of the members or a
fictitious organization such as a small business, public library, school, and
so forth. The Virtual Organizations on the student website are possible candidates.
The team will write the
requirements for a program needed by the organization. The program must be
object-oriented and include database connectivity.
The report
will also contain the following material:
(a) UML Class Diagrams
(b) ERD Diagram showing the tables, fields, keys
and relations
(c) Objectives to be met by the Presentation Layer
(d) Objectives to be met by the Business Layer
(e) Objectives to be met by the Data Layer
The team will analyze the
requirements and determine how each language, C# and Visual Basic®
(VB), fits the requirements and describe any roadblocks.
The team will discuss and choose the language
for the project. The team will write a paper, including the pros and cons of
each choice, and make an argument using references for the decision.
