What is an example of a new system/ structure?
Keeping PACS as a service, just adding more services and accessibility
Changes to PACS:
A recommended PACS course on Canvas for every incoming freshman to complete
A freshman year PACS check-in with a counselor so that people can try out the resource for themselves (similar to academic counselor check-ins)
More diverse counselors, more types of therapy available (ex: art therapy, equine therapy)
PACS as a long-term solution, no 8-session rule
Changes to other school policies:
Being allowed to miss some classes for mental health issues, not just physical health issues
One designated mental health day per semester where classes don’t assign homework, counselors being available in every residence hall AND off-campus apartments/ UNH housing
PACS open house during freshman orientation, so that every student knows where the building is and how to access the services
How will these changes be supported (financially, socially)?
Allocating more money from the total UNH budget towards PACS
Showing public support for these changes by showing how often PACS is used as a service and what students know about the services they provide
