Why you picked this scene (what you like about this scene) Include what is unique or special

I picked this scene of the film because it brings the central theme of the whole movie. Being a fantasy movie, the characters have unique capabilities – complementary skills – that will help them return the jewel to the Jaguar’s eye, lift the curse, and save Jumanji. The scene has a great display of cinematography, and it shows how fantasy can be configured to look like reality.

Why do you believe this scene is good to analyze?

Analyzing this scene will make it easier to identify many characteristics of film identified during film analysis. The scene also gives a significant aspect of the film’s central theme and introduces what is expected in the rest of the film. This is the basis of the fantasy on which the film is built.

Include any specific challenges you think you will encounter in the paper?

I am well prepared to work on the final paper. However, I am sure I will have difficulties working on cinematography. I understand what cinematography is and what it entails, but it will be difficult to point out all the aspects of cinematography in the scene. However, I will work on it, and I am sure I will have no problem. I feel I am well prepared.

Give a short interpretation of the symptomatic meaning.

The symptomatic meaning in the film is the ability of the four main characters to combine their complementary skills and work together to return the jewel to Jaguar’s eye and save Jumanji. Without each one of them, the mission would be impossible. Thus the success of their quest relies on the characters’ ability to work together utilizing their complementary skills to improve each other and save each other until they make it to Jaguar’s eye.
