Describe your thoughts, experiences, and perceptions about numbers and functions as abstact objects. How has your thought about abstract objects in mathematics changed over your mathematics career (i.e., from highschool to early college to now). How has this class changed your experience and perceptions of abstract objects in mathematics? Upper-level mathematics classes become more and more abstract. How are you preparing to tackle abstract objects in upper-level mathematics classes (in both proof oriented, applied mathematics classes, and other math classes)? Many students go through a transition of thinking of a process and eventually viewing things more generally as objects.
