FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

For this assignment you are required to listen to the podcast listed here, analyze it through the text from the reading listed, and compose a critical written reflection of 850 words. Your text must be organized through the following structure:

SECTION 1: In a couple of paragraphs present and describe the following:

Overview of the case study presented by the author/s of the podcast, and addition of an image (of the case study) that embodies the author’s analysis, and their argument

Statement and analysis about the authors’ arguments based on their analysis of the case study

Central theoretical concepts and definitions used by the authors to frame their arguments

Overall objective and relevance of the authors’ argument and analysis

SECTION 2: Use a reading of your choosing from the Race & Modern Architecture book to further analyze the authors’ case study and argument, and connect it to conversations we have had in class. In this section, you are asked to pay particular attention to how terms and frameworks introduced in the podcast can be further analyzed through the theoretical and historical frameworks introduced in the reading.

SECTION 3: This final section it is about your perspectives on the podcast, and it must include the following three items:

Your position about whether the argument presented is convincing through the evidence presented by the author/s and your analysis

Your analysis of the contemporary relevance of the talk to the history of architecture and your architectural education

A conclusion about your impressions of the talk, and how has impacted your knowledge on the subject
