Assignment Details:
Prepare a short paper of around 950 words about different countries’ counter measures to curb the spread of fake news and disinformation on digital (social media, electronic media, etc.) as well as legacy media (TV, newspapers, radio…etc.).
You may choose 2-4 countries to focus on. Research what laws/regulations they have in place as well as penalties imposed for violators. Conclude by discussing if you believe such regulations are helping. Are penalties too harsh? Are they too dismissive? You can support your argument by looking up numbers or statistics.
