One-Page Summaries

Purpose

The purpose of the one-page summaries is for you to capture the most important points from the lecture/ readings and describe how they might inform your personal or group DEI intervention plan AND the field of HRD (Human resource and development)/ DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion).

Directions

The summary should explain the text/ lecture to someone who has not read it. It should describe the support the author provided for their assertions/research.  

It should be in your own words and include few if any direct quotes.

Format(follow the format and make sure everything is in the paper)

Include the citation at the top of the paper along with your name, date, and course.

Include a thesis or overall main idea.

Summarize the paper’s organization (headings) key points. Include transitions between major points.

Discuss the relevance of the paper/ lecture to the field of HRD (human resource development).

Conclude with how you might use the findings to inform your personal DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) plan/ intervention.

One letter page, double-spaced.
