Case study

Patient is a 50-year-old-male with MDD who presents for follow-up management. Patient states that he has been doing okay with his mood, but he has been struggling with motivation and his work since his divorce. He states that it is difficult for him to do the things that he used to enjoy. He describes wanting to do leisure activities but that he often has decreased motivation to go through with it. He explains that his new job is challenging and done remotely besides having to go to a few in-office meetings, so it makes him feel isolated at times. He denies SI/HI or AVH; he does not report any sleep or appetite issues. The client is experiencing moderate symptoms of major depression. He was initiated on treatment that aim at improving his mood.

Client was initiated on group psychotherapy using Psychoeducational Group Therapy to enhance the effectiveness of the adopted pharmacological interventions. Patient is on Fluoxetine 10mg 1 tablet qhs and Sertraline 50mg 1 tablet qam
