The goal of this presentation is to cite a specific example from your clinical setting, which demonstrates how research can be translated into practice. This is a group assignment.

Describe how research can be translated into practice.
Steps:
1. Work with your group to identify one specific example from your clinical setting on how research has been translated into evidence-based practice. Read Chapter 19 (Strategies and Tools for Developing Evidence-Based Practice).
2. The clinical settings include hospitals, primary care settings, nursing homes, community-based clinics/surgical centers, schools, homecare and public health nursing departments.
3. Describe the practice change that took place within the organization.
4. Discuss the supporting evidence in the literature that was utilized in implementing the practice change. List any strategies and tools utilized to develop the evidence-based practice change.
5. Briefly describe how the practice change was implemented at the patient care/community level.
6. Briefly describe how the effectiveness of the new practice is being evaluated for effectiveness.
