Instruction:

Final paper: This is the research writing assignment for the semester; 6-8 pages. Other components of this assignment include the submission of an abstract (proposal), an outline, a bibliography, and a peer-review session with a full draft. PLEASE NOTE: You must submit a full draft AND participate in the peer review in person in order to receive credit for these components.

Minimum requirements:

– Must focus on 1 or 2 revolutionary processes.

– Make sure your proposal addresses the following:

1. What is the main research question?

2. What is the topic of study related to that research question?

3. How will you go about researching this question and topic? What will be your research methods?

4. What is the significance of this topic and research? Why should readers be interested?

Guidelines for the final paper:

1) Times New Roman, font size 12, double-spaced, 1-inch margins

2) 6-8 pages + bibliography/reference list (min. of 5 peer-reviewed sources)

3) In-text citations and bibliography/reference list must be in APA [click this module for 2 APA citation guides]

4) Title page optional, but you must have a title. If not using a title page, be sure to include your name, date, and class number (SS 201) in the header.

5) Number your pages.

6) Quick summary of structure:

         a) Introduction [research question, argument, significance, logic of case selection]

         b) Subsection on Historical Context

         c) Analysis

         d) Conclusion [main takeways from your analysis, potential weaknesses in your argument, avenues for further research]
