The nutritional requirements in pig feed is targeted to achieve maximum growth for minimal feed fed. Currently we feed ourgrower piglets Vella grower feed and sell them at 45-55 kg (approx. 13_weeks).A sales manager for Vella feed has spoken to the school and informed us they have a new feed available. It supposedly has ahigher feed conversion ratio than the current feed but is slightly more expens ive.Before changing to new feed, we need to explore if it does really increase the growth rate of the piglets.To evaluate the new feed, Year 9 have been targeted to undertake a feed trial in a litter of piglets. During term 2 you will bemonitoring the grower piglets. Using a class roster, all of year 9 will collect the weights of the piglets at least once a week. Thisdata (your results) will be placed in an excel spreadsheet which will be made available to all students.Using the collected results gained through the feed trial YQ!! are to create a report of this in formation.
