Journal Article Summary Assignment Instructions:
What are Journal Article Summaries??
Students are expected to read the posted peer-reviewed journal article and write a summary of the article.
What is a summary?
Introduces the reading and author
Summarizes the author(s)’ main point or thesis
Covers the reading’s major content/ideas
Discusses examples/evidence
Uses quotes sparingly
Concludes with the importance/value of the reading

What are the paper guidelines?
Summaries must be 2-3 pages, not including a reference page. This means that the reference page is not counted as one of the 2-3 pages.
Papers should be double-spaced, 1-inch margins, New Times Roman, 12pt Font
Must have correct spelling and grammar!
Use correct citations and referencing style, such as APA or MLA
Where do I submit writing assignment?
Journal Article assignments must be submitted using the Turnitin submission link provided
Which peer-reviewed article do I summarize?
A link is provided to the specific journal article in our Canvas Module assignment.
Grading?
Each summary is worth 20 points and I will look for student papers to follow the guidelines described above.
