1. Why does conflict happen in human society? Discuss several important causes of conflicts.
2. What are the four levels of conflict? Please, explain the main characteristics of each level by providing examples.
3. How can we distinguish between nationalist and ideological conflict? What is the role of religion and resources?
4. According to the textbook, how and why do some conflicts remain nonviolent?
5. Could anything be worse than war? Discuss societal mayhem and mass murder and factors that predict these events.
6. What is the just war doctrine and what are some factors that indicate societal mayhem? Explain it by providing examples.
