Select an infectious disease to research from the list below. Follow the criteria below  

for the epidemiological investigation of your selected topic.

Topics:

● AIDS

● Bubonic Plague

● COVID-19

● H1N1 – Flu

● Measles

● Pertussis

● Tuberculosis

● Zika

The 5 W’s of epidemiology:  

1. What = health issue of concern

2. Who = person

3. Where = place

4. When = time

5. Why/how = causes, risk factors, modes of transmission

Create a brochure informing patients of the infectious disease you selected and  

answer the 5 W’s about your selected topic. In addition, describe how public health  

can break the chain of infection to reduce the spread. Include a references page with  

proper citations. [If you prefer, you could format the brochure in a Q & A format.]

• Use 12-point font, double-spaced text, and indent the first line of each  

paragraph.

• Follow APA writing guidelines.

• Proofread and correct all errors in capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and  

spelling.
