Do you think the Three Strikes Law is an effective crime deterrent? Why or why not?

I will like to argue that even though it has some effective qualities, it is still ineffective in stopping violent crime.

1 reason – The threat of a life sentence is not going to stop people who are act impulsively, without thought to the likely consequences of their actions

Another reason -will disproportionately impact minority offenders
