HealthCare I.T. Project Proposal
I.T. Project: Portal Health at Boston Children’s Hospital
Decide on an information technology project that would significantly benefit your chosen health system.
Research the technology you will recommend.
Identify the current state of the technology, describe any challenges, and predict near term and long-term developments and implications. Also, consider any ethical concerns, and financial/economic implications.
A business case should be created for your organization to select the information technology you select.
Your end product will be a 3 to 5 page, single-spaced MS Word Document (this will typically be between 1000-1500 words) containing a business case that describes important aspects of the technology, is grammar-checked and consistently readable in APA style (title page and references do not count in page total). Include the following sections in your business case:
Executive summary including your recommendation
An introduction
Statement and analysis of the problem that needs to be solved
Discussion of possible solutions
Recommended technology solution with explanation and justification
Recommended Solution Cost and Return on Investment Analysis – table with projections and narrative, including 5-year capital and operational expense and return/revenue projections
