Week 3 COMM 100 Impression Management Facebook

Please go into Facebook either by using your own account or another person’s. Don’t post anything; instead, look at what is posted on peoples’ walls (home screen). From an impression management perspective, what impressions does this person hope to make? How does this person attempt to achieve it (be specific)? What is featured? Pictures? Of what subject?
What is the depth of self-disclosure? Give an example of a posting that you think discloses a lot (is personal), and one that you think doesn’t disclose much. What are positive disclosures (I got an “A”) versus negative disclosures (I gained weight)? Are shared experiences or similarities stressed?
