This assignment comprises the write-up of the practical class in which you will examine the predation on a native species of lacewing by harlequin ladybirds (an introduced species).You should write a lab report in the standard format, using the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. For the methods section, you will be given an incomplete methodology that you have to complete and include as your methods. For your result section you need to interpret the gel images (produced on the last day of the practical). You will be expected to analyse the results and draw appropriate graphs and tables. Please note that words on graphs or other figures or those in tables or flow charts do not count towards your word limit. There will be special teaching sessions on assessment literacy. Please look for the sessions marked with asterisks on the Syllabus The marking scheme will be discussed in some of the teaching sessions and a copy of it is at the end of the practical Handout. Use this as guidelines to help you while planning and writing your assignment.
