IR 210 Paper Assignments
Here are the prompts for your papers. In your writing, you must draw from the readings covered in the course, although you do not have to adopt any of the positions you encounter. If you use quotations, please include the page numbers.
Papers should be approximately 1,000 words. All papers must engage extensively with the readings in the course up to that point. Please include a minimum of five citations to the articles in the syllabus.
Second paper assignment
How should we think about progress in international relations? Is there such a thing? What does it mean to you? What are the prospects for the exercise of agency in foreign affairs? What does the historical record show? What are the prime movers of progress as you define it and how would we promote it?

Submission instructions
Go to the Assignments section of the class Blackboard page Once on the section Blackboard page, click on “Assignments” on the left panel
On the “Assignments” page, click the “View/Complete” link for “Paper #1 or #2”
This will take you to the “Submit Turnitin Assignment” portal where you will enter your name, paper title (e.g. “Paper 2”), and upload your paper.
Upload your paper from either your computer, Google Drive, or Dropbox, then push “Submit”
You will next be taken to a page where you are asked to confirm that all your information is correct. Press “Confirm” if everything is correct.
You will then be taken to a confirmation page.
