The members of the supply chain involved are the cotton farmers in Mississippi, technician dealing with the machines, supervisors in every sector, workers in garment factories in Colombian and Bangladesh, and shipping personnel in charge of loading the shipment. These members are all directly involved in the supply chain processes although the number is lower because of involvement of technology in the supply chain.

The main ethical issue is workers’ safety and poor compensation. The company in Bangladesh takes advantage of its workers’ vulnerabilities and pays them less for they services, but does not guarantee their safety as their working condition is poor and they are not protected from dangerous accidents, such as the collapse of the building they work under. Their labour is more important to the company but their safety is not a part of the bargain.

The technology that I believe has the most influence is cotton pickers. This is because picking cotton from the farm would require a large workforce and with people working on it, it would take a significant amount of time. Therefore, the machine significantly reduced the time and the cost of cotton picking.

With all the processes and all the countries involved in the making of the product, it is still affordable to consumers because of low production cost. This is so because the production of the product uses only machines and not people, therefore there is no human workforce required, and no workers to compensate at the end of the production.
