Pursuing an international business course has been my dream since I majored in accounting. One is because I am interested in the world outside my home country. Second, more businesses are going global, forming trading partnerships with foreign countries, and increasing their consumer base by attending to foreign markets. I agree with current studies that the future is global, and understanding different countries and cultures are essential in the workplace. An international business course will help me gain an international outlook. Understanding other cultures will help me understand their market, thus becoming a valuable asset in global businesses. An international business course will help me gain cross-cultural management skills and cultural-based research methods.
Business is about the connections you make and the people you meet. Being an extrovert myself, I know the benefits that healthy and well-meaning human connections can bring. I have found that to impact anyone; you have to be relatable to a certain level. To solve someone’s problems, you have to understand their pain point. To fully understand the consumer’s pain point and the root of their problem, a first-hand experience is critical. Understanding the market requires co-existing with your potential customers and sharing their space and all that comes with it. Businesses require employees to represent the business and handle themselves appropriately in foreign territories. I hope to achieve from an international study experience the chance to travel and network with different people. I am excited to develop my interpersonal skills and meet people from all walks of life. An international study experience will equip me with cultural awareness, allowing fruitful interaction in foreign markets. With the rise of global corporations, the international study will help me stand out when looking for a job.
